What an exciting journey it has been to follow the leading of the Lord to establish His Church here in
Smyrna, TN. From our humble start in a daycare, with my wife and two children, to the present location
with a wonderful Church family, I can truly see the realism of Philippians 2:13, "For it is God which
worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure".
I will never forget driving into the Middle-Tennessee area in a U-hual truck, pulling my car, my wife
following me in the mini-van, not knowing anyone, not knowing where we would live, planning on
starting an Independent Baptist Church, scared and nervous; but experiencing the sweet assurance
from God that we were exactly in the will and hand of God Almighty. I look back and see the goodness
and grace of God in a thousand different ways. I praise God for the hundreds of souls that have been
saved and countless lives that have been eternally touched by His Church.
No one individual can claim the glory for what God is doing in our hearts and lives. It must be said, "To
God be the glory, great things HE hath done". I do not know what the future holds for Rutherford County
Baptist Church, but I do know who holds the future. I can say with joy, excitement and experience that
the greatest journey you can experience is following the will and hand of God Almighty for your life.
